Climate

Amman's position on the mountains close to the Mediterranean atmosphere zone places it under the semi-dry atmosphere grouping (Köppen atmosphere: BSh). Summers are somewhat hot and windy, notwithstanding, maybe a couple warm waves may happen amid summer. Spring is brief and warm, where highs achieve 28 °C (82 °F). Spring generally begins amongst April and May, and last about a month. Around the finish of November is the period in which winter typically begins and proceeds from right on time to mid March. Temperatures are more often than not close or beneath 17 °C (63 °F), with snow every so often falling a few times per year. Amman has extraordinary cases of microclimate, and practically every area displays its own weather.It is known among local people that a few precincts, for example, the northern suburb of Abu Nser are among the coldest in the city, and can encounter ice while other hotter areas, for example, Marka can give much hotter temperatures to its occupants in the meantime.

The temperatures recorded underneath are taken from the climate station at the focal point of the city which is at a height of 767 m (2,516 ft) above ocean level. At higher rises, the temperatures will be lower amid winter and higher amid summer. For instance, in regions, for example, al-Jubaiha, Sweileh, Khalda, Abu Nser which are at/higher than 1,000 m (3,300 ft) above ocean level have normal temperatures of 7 to 9 °C (45 to 48 °F) in the day and 1 to 3 °C (34 to 37 °F) during the evening in January. In August, the normal high temperatures in these territories are 25 to 28 °C (77 to 82 °F) in the day and 14 to 16 °C (57 to 61 °F) during the evening.
